Membership

Membership is open to any man or woman who served honorably during the Korean War, in any branch of the United States Military or any of its Allies. Membership is also open to any descendant (lineal or collateral) man or woman of any age..

 

Types of Membership:

  • Veteran: Any individual, with the US or Allied Nation, that served during the Korean War or in Korea, after armistice was signed. Spouses may also be admitted as full members for their service at home.

  • Hereditary: Any descent who can prove descedent, lineal or collateral, to someone that served during the Korean Conflict. 

  • Associates: Anyone who supports the mission of the organization and seeks to promote our cause. 

  • Honorary: Anyone who has rendered significant service to the organization or veterans

"Application should be filled out (typed on the computer) at your convenience,  and sent together with a set of supporting “proofs” for each generation from your own up to and including that of your ancestor. Of especial importance is the proof of “linkage” between each generation. Keep a copy of the application and proofs for your personal files.

If your application and proofs are found to be complete and genealogically acceptable, you will be notified of your acceptance into the Society.

1.     All names should be given in full – no initials. All dates should be written as follows: 06 Jul 1843, or 31 Sep 1856, etc. (note: three letters for the months).

2.     All places should include city, county, state for U.S. locations and city, county and/or state, country for all other place locations.

3.     For each generation, birth, death and marriage dates and places are required (city, county, state and country) = to the fullest extent possible. LEAVE THE SPACE EMPTY if a date or place is unknown. If such primary source (vital records) data cannot be obtained, acceptable secondary sources might be, viz.:

a.     photos of gravestones and military grave markers;

b.     obituaries, including the name of newspaper and date;

c.     Bible records, including title page of family Bible;

d.     census records; (e) Wills; (f) deeds; (g) diaries;

e.     service records, from national or state archives; and

f.      published family histories and genealogies, including title page, etc.

 

Each member of the Order shall be entitled to a certificate of membership, duly attested by the Commander of the Order and the Secretary of the Order, to which shall be affixed the seal of the Order once the application has been approved by the genealogist."
